Joel Noland brings a unique blend of scientific training, agricultural experience, and medical expertise to the Kootenai-Shoshone Soil & Water Conservation District.

He earned an undergraduate degree in physics with a minor in Japanese. Between undergraduate studies and medical school, he worked on an organic farm in Iowa, an experience that deepened his appreciation for soil health and regenerative land practices. For the past 15 years, Joel has practiced medicine with a focus on environmental, functional, and restorative approaches, giving him a deep understanding of how soil quality, water quality, and farming practices directly influence human health.

Joel’s goal is to apply his background in mathematical and physics-based problem solving, medical knowledge, and practical business experience to help protect and improve North Idaho’s natural resources so they can support the health and vitality of the region for generations to come.
